MobileInternetSatellite.com and StarBand Communications now provide a comprehensive certification procedure, specifically for mobile users of the StarBand Nova 500,1000, and 1500.
Why Certification?
StarBand has made installer certification a requirement of being a mobile StarBand user. There are a few primary reasons for this:
- Most importantly, the process of getting your mobile certification will provide you with information that is critical, to assure your tripod setups are not creating interference on your satellite or on a neighboring satellite.
- Understanding how StarBand satellite technology and your system work will help make your tripod setups easier and less error-prone.
- You need an installer ID and passcode, to access the CVACS voice-response system for alignment checking and commissioning.
There is no charge for either the certification training materials or to take the exam. You can take the exam up to 5 times and it is an open-book exam. The objective is to make sure you have access to the information considered important, for being a good mobile satellite user.
Once you have taken and passed the exam with a score of 85% or better, an email will be generated. You can then expect to receive your installer certification number (also called installer ID and CVACS username) and a passcode (also called CVACS password) via email.

When you are ready, click the Start Certification button, to be transferred to the testing web site and begin the exam. Make sure you have the training document open and readily available, when you take the exam.
