HughesNet Modems : There are three different Direcway and HughesNet modems in use today, for Ku-band services. Here is a little info about each:

• DW6000 – This is the oldest modem still in use … no new accounts are being commissioned on this modem, except through the HughesNet VARs, such as Motosat. Only a few satellite/Ku-band transponder combinations now support this modem.
• DW7000 – There are also no new accounts being commissioned on this modem, except through the HughesNet VARs. Not all satellite/Ku-band transponder combinations can support this modem.It is considered equivalent to an HN7000S, except for higher potential upload speeds on HN7000S-only transponders.
• HN7000S – This is the newest modem still in use … new accounts are being commissioned on this modem, direct with HughesNet and through HughesNet VARs. Most satellite/Ku-band transponder combinations can support this modem.
